The Tashoko Fellows program brings together students and educators to design and run real research on how AI-guided studying affects grades, retention, and behavior.

What Fellows work on

Projects that actually touch real classrooms.

Fellows help us:

  • Compare traditional weekly homework with Tashoko‑guided study plans in intro STEM and business courses.

  • Test what happens when instructors replace frequent low‑value quizzes with fewer, deeper projects plus structured study.

  • Explore how different study strategies impact students from different backgrounds, majors, and starting skill levels.

Who should apply

Students, professors, and teachers who care about evidence.

Example fellows:

  • Undergraduate and graduate students interested in education, psychology, data, or AI

  • Professors and teachers who want to experiment with new course designs

  • Researchers who want access to real‑world data from live courses, not just small lab samples

What Fellows get

In return we invest in you.

Some offerings:

  • 100% free access to Tashoko for all participants in your study

  • Direct collaboration with our research and product teams throughout your project

  • A completion bonus tied to scope and quality once the study wraps

  • Priority consideration for extended fellowships helping build Tashoko on the product, AI, or engineering side

How it works

From idea to study in three steps.

Sampled process:

Propose a study
Share a short description of the class, question you want to answer, and rough design.
Co-design with us
We help you refine the study so it’s realistic for a semester and aligned with institutional ethics/IRB processes.
Run, analyze, publish
You gather data, we support with tools and analysis, and—where appropriate—we co‑author reports or papers with you.
